Projects
With a strong passion in the arts, I have taken part and planned many arts-related events throughout my time in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. These valuable experiences have prepared me and will be able to assist me in future arts-related careers.
NGEE ANN POLYTECHNIC KOREAN CULTURAL CLUB
DANCE PRODUCTION 2022
Vice President (Dance) / Overall-in-Charge
As the Vice President (Dance), I was given the opportunity to spearhead and manage the Korean Cultural Club (KCC)'s annual Dance Production as part of Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP)'s Arts Fiesta 2022. This role has seen all production matters including the creative direction, trainings and rehearsals, filming schedules and much more.

With the amount of liaising, discussion, decision-making and problem-solving that arose, effective communication and flexibility remained crucial throughout this journey. Furthermore, I was also able to hone other skills through ad hoc duties such as makeup and styling, artist management, editing of publicity collaterals, storyboarding and assisting onsite filming. This experience truly presented me with an opportunity for all-rounded personal and professional growth.

ONLINE DANCE PRODUCTION 2021
Head of Dance / Assistant-in-Charge
As the Head of Dance, I was in charge of planning KCC's Dance Production as part of NP’s Online Arts Fiesta. I had to liaise with members and the planning team, organising the members and their items and other administrative matters to ensure the event ran smoothly. Due to lack of manpower, I also hosted the event as one of the emcees. The Production ran smoothly and was well-received by KCC members, the Student Development Office (SDO) of NP and the audience. The full Production video on NP Arts Fiesta’s YouTube Channel garnered more than 1,200 views. Through this experience, I learnt to be more meticulous throughout the planning process and managed to improve on communication skills as well as event-hosting skills.

ONLINE DANCE CLASSES
Overall-in-Charge
I was the Overall-in-Charge of planning KCC’s Dance Classes in 2021. This process included contacting Dance Instructors as well as liaising with them and the planning committee. Besides that, I also hosted and facilitated the dance classes. I sorted out technical issues that occurred and helped iron out details such as how to mirror the instructor’s camera for the participants. I also ensured the participants' well-being by checking up on them during the breaks and making sure everyone was having and enjoyable experience. Despite the relatively low sign ups, those who attended the class had enjoyed themselves and learnt something new. The dance classes also ran smoothly with almost no hiccups in between.

SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT 20/21
Team Admin Manager
All First Year Arts Business Management (ABM) students were tasked to design and execute an arts workshop for the children of Club Rainbow, as part of our Service Learning Project under the Arts Education and Outreach module. My team came up with a programme called "Colours and Clay" which aimed to teach the children of Club Rainbow about the Colour Theory as well as the use of clay as a medium. I led my team in the preparation process by taking charge of the organisational matters such as the project timeline and gathering of logistics for the programme. I helped to keep my team on task and ensured that we stuck closely to the timeline. Our programme was well-received by the participants and commended for being a very engaging and interesting arts programme. Through this experience, I managed to hone my organisational skills as well as learn useful craft skills while handling the clay.

VERVE ARTS FESTIVAL 2021
Partnerships Team Member /"Self Portrait" Planning Team
Verve Arts Festival is an annual community arts festival organised by Second Year students from the Diploma in Arts Business Management. Verve 2021 prides itself in being a socially-engaged arts festival which sought to platform underrepresented narratives and art forms in the community. Along with my team, Project 3 + 7, we curated Self Portrait. Self Portrait was a programme which merged photography and exhibition in a single 360-degree photo, exploring self-representation of two young women. Other than being one of the subjects of this work, I was also a member of the partnerships team, which allowed me to liaise with external parties and other artists as part of the creative process. Our programme was well-received by those who visited our Verve website and was commended for being a creative and innovative piece. Through this experience, I learnt a wide array of both soft and hard skills such as managing a team, communication, creativity as well as handling filming equipment and set design.

ARTIST CAREER DEVELOPMENT PACKAGE
Team Member
In my 2nd Year of the diploma, we were tasked to come up with hypothetical Career Development Plans for local artists using the skills and knowledge we had gained during our Talent and Artist Management module. The local artists I chose to work on were Howie Kim and Celine Autumn (from Sobs). Additionally, I also came up with career development plans and a media press kit for singer YAØ for our second assignment. My plans and activities to boost the artists' image and advance their career was well-received by our lecturer and managed to clinch a grading of "A". Despite this being a graded assignment, I enjoyed coming up with creative ways to further propel an artist's career, taking into account their image, narrative and other external factors.

FILMING FOR KPOP DANCE COVER CREW ALTAIR
Videographer and On-site Manager
I have experience in videography for local K-pop dance cover crew, Altair. Being their videographer, I picked out the key points of their choreographies, coming up with innovative ways to accentuate the individual charms and strengths of each member on camera. Besides being the one behind the camera, I was also in charge of various management tasks on-site at the filming locations such as doing safety checks and ensuring the wellbeing of the dancers. Such experiences are very fulfilling to me as I am able to support those in the spotlight from behind the scenes.
